Get fit outside!

The Times online are writing all about getting fit outdoors

We said at Schultz we were going to fit back into our Schultz Designer Jeans for men and women who love fashion and I found this on the Internet.

“If you prefer to be exercising outdoors than sweating it out in the gym, follow Peta Bee’s guide to the top ten ways to get fit in the town and country.”

The article goes on to discuss the different things you can do outside to get fit and then keep fit.  They have missed one off but I shall add that at the end!

In The City - Park Circuits - You have seen it in “Sex and the City” the girls doing their power walking round central park and then Carrie stopping for a cigarette! Oh fitness in the early 90’s “A fitness revolution of recent years has been an outdoor circuit class in which groups of people are led through gruelling army-style workouts that involve lunging, sprinting and bench-dipping in parks, commons and any open space. In London the trend was triggered by British Military Fitness, started in 1999 and run by former Army PT instructors.”

Body boosting to develop Muscles The upper and lower body exercises test every muscle, but especially the hamstrings, quadriceps and calf muscles.

IN-LINE SKATING - only for the steady on their feet! Apparently mass skating events through the streets of Paris and similar group skates in Amsterdam and London have transformed in-line skating into a boom sport. Check that in-line skating is permitted in your local park; some councils ban it for fear of collisions with pedestrians.  Body boosting Muscles Helps to create a strong, toned core section that will improve balance, posture and prevent back pain. It will also give your leg muscles a good workout.

The artical goes on to discuss, Free running/parkour only for the fittest can’t see me or any one in the office jumping off or up any walls though!  Tai-Chi - more like what I would do - a low risk sport unless their are low flying pigeons!

In The Countryside - RETRO RUNNING - no this does not mean you put on a big wig, flares and platforms.  Retro-running (walking or running backwards!!!!) dates from the 1970s when a group of physiotherapists began recommending it to injured athletes. Oh… there is a Risk factor Beginners complain of stiff neck muscles as they look behind to avoid collisions - okay! What about falling over ?  !!!

GOLF  - The game has undergone a dramatic makeover and is attracting a younger generation of players. Unlike other sports, the biggest opponents are yourself and the surroundings. Even at professional level, golfers claim to battle the course as much as their rivals. The basics are simple: hit a small ball into a hole with the fewest possible shots. Repeat 18 times (nine-hole courses are also common).

Land Yachting, Kite flying - if you can get it up - I have a memory of Lyme Park and a kite and 2 hours later and I did not get it up once! (I am not being rude either)  Gardening if you don’t have a garden go round to your grans and then she will be happy too.

And finally even though it was not mentioned for those of the more adventurous spirit what about outdoor sex, hey it uses up loads of calories is good for the heart and soul and brings you closer to that someone special.  So it is a win, win situation for all.  So where could it be done in the garden! Oh yes Not maybe in a public park oh no! but in the quiet countryside if you are very daring and I am not saying that the Schultz jeans are used for that but with the Schultzstrap you know that your Schultz Designer Jeans will not be round by your ankles! should you be rudely interrupted :-)
