We may have missed a trick with these jeans that Boing Boing posted about earlier.
We’re sure they wouldn’t put off the ladies….
We’ve been featured on top fashion blog Denimology this week. These guys are experts in the world of designer jeans and their blog is always worth a look. They did, however, miss one crucial thing about our jeans being designed to be worn “low [and] loose” which is that this also means they’re designed to be really comfortable!
So it seems that Jeremy Paxman is unhappy with his Marks & Spencer’s pants. According to the Daily Mail he’s written a letter complaining about a decrease in the quality of M&S men’s underwear.
Frankly, we don’t know what sort of quality Mr. Paxman expects at the extravagant price of £3 for 5 pairs of y-fronts. You don’t wear underpants just so you don’t have to wash your trousers after every wear. You wear underpants to keep your tackle warm in the winter and cool in the summer, to offer an extra bit of support so you don’t jiggle around too much when you walk, and to help shape your nether regions and make them look good in whatever trousers you wear so you can impress the ladies. Underwear manufactured cheaply enough to retail at that price is never going to offer the comfort, shape, elasticity and durability that a more expensive pair of men’s designer underpants will provide.
Ultimately, you can buy cheap men’s underwear, but you’re going to have to replace it fairly often, you won’t look as good wearing it and it won’t feel anywhere near as comfortable against your skin. If you spend a little more money, you will get a pair of underpants on which attention has been paid to every detail from the quality of the fabric, to the levels of elasticity, to the strength of the gusset to the appearance and durability of the stitching to the way in which the underwear sits when you wear it and how it helps you look in a pair of jeans.
Schultz underpants are designed with quality and comfort in mind. We use only the most comfortable 100% cotton and we assure you that they will make you look great and will stand up to repeated washes, so both you and Jeremy Paxman can buy our men’s underwear with confidence. Besides, wouldn’t he look great presenting Newsnight with some “Heatseeker” briefs popping out over a Schultz Strap?
We know how much you like our jeans with the special Schultz strap. We know how much you like seeing our jeans on really fit blokes too. The BBC reports that the dye used in blue jeans and ballpoint pens has light sensitive properties that can zap cancer cells.
Apparently when exposed to a special laser a compound taken from the blue dye can produce a special form of oxygen. By placing this into cancer cells scientists can zap them like never before.
We always said a pair of designer jeans could make you feel good!
Male Mode has posted a rather amusing brief history of briefs. Strangely, they left out the emergence of the male thong.
What this brief glimpse into the history of men’s underwear does reveal is that not only have comfort and support have always been two key factors, but, at least judging by the photos in question, when they think they look good, men like showing off their fashionable underwear.
This month the hot new range of designer mens underwear from Schultz Jeans is featured in GQ magazine.
We’re always looking for interesting stories about men’s fashion here, and we spotted one the other day in the Globe and Mail about pockets on men’s trousers and jackets. The article makes a very good point by saying that slimmer styles of trouser mean we have less room in our pockets for the ever-growing number of things we need to keep in them such as wallets, cell phones and keyrings.
The fact is that most men carry a wallet in their pockets stuffed with all manner of credit cards, handfuls of coins, receipts for the last two years and an ever-growing number of business cards. Even where a wallet is kept for the sole purpose of storing cash, our cell phones are getting bigger again as we want to update Facebook and Twitter from our phones, look at Google Maps or check our email on the go while also using our phones for GPS and to take photographs.
The thing is, and it’s something we’ve always known, guys, when we shove all this junk into our pockets, it looks pretty bad. Having a huge lump against your leg or your bum cheek does not flatter anyone. There’s a reason that women carry handbags and this is it.
Sadly, we have no idea how to remedy it either, save the Globe and Mail’s suggestion of inside pockets. If anybody’s got suggestions, we’re listening.
